Some devices pull electricity even when they are shut off. In a house, this can count up to 15-20% of your yearly bill. Every wire that is plugged into the power supply will consume some electricity when in standby mode. They require this energy to perform different task like updating, connecting to cloud/data centers. So if we plug in the charger, television, microwave, computer, etc and switch them on and leave them in this stage, then it will consume some power even if we are not using it. This is known as vampire power and losses associated with it is known as vampire power losses.
